Dejvice area of Prague, Czech
The Dejvice region is an area of Prague that is located around 2 kilometres from the city centre. The area is also easily accessibly from the Ruzyne airport which is only five kilometres away. This makes Dejvice a popular location for visitors to the city who are looking for a place to stay.
Dejvice is one of the most peaceful areas in Prague, with a large part of the region covered by one of the most famous parks in the city, the Přirodni Park Šárka-Lysolaje.
Although the entire area is under one pin code, Dejvice is very evidently divided into two separate regions. The first region is one of the most prosperous areas in the city, where
many of the International embassies and the large mansions are located. This part of Dejvice is home to the former president of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, and is separated from the second region by the motorway.
The second region of Dejvice is home to a much poorer section of Prague’s population, and the buildings in this region are well below standard.
Getting to and from Dejvice can be easily accomplished by taking advantage of the large number of tram and bus lines that traverse the region. From Dejvice, the city centre and the Hradcany are at a walking distance, and this area houses some of the best hotels in the city.
